the mbewe name dominant in malawi is of the batau origin of the mlageni clan, now the known as the maseko ngonis of ntcheu district of central malawi who left zululand and swaziland during the mfecane wars and our leader is inkosi yamainkosi gomani, paramount chief of the maseko ngonis of malawi and mozambique. the batau people ie mlangeni clan are originally pure blood swazis. therefore the mlangeni clan in zambia, malawi and swaziland(hlathikhulu, sishelweni and nhlangano of swaziland) are of the same clan, the mlangeni clan of swaziland. around 1100 ad before the mfecane the mlangeni clan broke away from the mainline swazi and stayed in wwakerstroom.
